The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has warned that it “won’t augur well” for members to attack the party and its leaders after losing in the recent House of Representatives and House of Assembly primaries.

The state chairman of the APC, Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement on Sunday, said such actions would only weaken the party ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

“It wouldn’t augur well for any member(s) of our party to engage in the talking down of the party or any of our leaders because of their inability to emerge victorious during the primary elections,” Lawal said.

He congratulated candidates who emerged from the primaries and commended losing aspirants for showing “the spirit of sportsmanship.” According to him, “there’s no winner and no vanquished” in the exercise, as “our party and the entire people of the state were the overall winners.”

Lawal urged successful candidates to use their victory to consolidate party unity and called on all aspirants to rein in their supporters on social media. He said offensive posts that create “acrimony, schism, disunity and crisis” must stop, noting that the party has constitutional channels to address grievances.

The chairman also called on members to rally behind the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15, 2026 election.
