Nigerian afro-house singer, Niniola, has announced the death of her husband, Michael Ndika.
The Grammy-nominated singer disclosed the heartbreaking news through a series of emotional posts shared on her Instagram story in the early hours of Wednesday.
Ndika, before his death, was the Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform focused on afro-house and contemporary African music.
“God took him,” she wrote in one of the posts.
“My husband died,” she added in another emotional message.
In a third post, the singer wrote: “God took him. 13 years. 13 f***ing years.”
Each post was accompanied by photos of the couple together.
The circumstances surrounding his death were not immediately disclosed, as the singer has largely kept her private life away from the public eye and social media.
Niniola rose to fame after emerging as one of the standout contestants on Project Fame West Africa in 2013. She later gained international recognition with her hit song Maradona, earning admiration from global stars including Drake and Beyoncé.

Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Ruth Kadiri, has called on the government to empower citizens to defend themselves amid rising insecurity across the country.
In a post shared on Tuesday, the actress expressed frustration over repeated attacks, killings, and the growing fear among Nigerians.
“Give us power to defend ourselves,” she wrote.
Kadiri stressed that many Nigerians now feel helpless as insecurity continues to threaten lives and property, adding that safety should be treated as a fundamental right rather than a privilege.

Afrobeats superstar Davido has said his university education remains one of the things he proudly talks about among colleagues in the music industry.
Speaking during a recent visit to Babcock University in Osun State, the singer explained that the institution helped shape both his life and career.

Emeka Rollas Cancels Birthday Plans in Honour of Alex Ekubo
Former president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, has cancelled all birthday celebrations in honour of late actor Alex Ekubo.
Ekubo reportedly died on Monday, May 11, at the age of 40 after battling advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Rollas described the actor’s death as deeply painful and appealed to friends, colleagues, fans, and family members not to organise any birthday surprises or celebrations for him this year.
Instead, he called on members of the entertainment industry nationwide to observe two minutes of silence in memory of the late actor.
Rollas noted that Ekubo’s warmth, laughter, talent, and presence touched many lives within and outside the movie industry, praying for strength for everyone mourning the painful loss.
