The lawmaker representing Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency, Hon. Lanre Oladebo, has called on members of the Accord Party in Osun State to remain united and work towards the victory of the party in the gubernatorial and general elections.

This was as he urged aspirants who were not favoured under the party to be careful of the actions they take in moments of pain.

Oladebo in a statement on Friday, copy of which was obtained by OSUN DEFENDER, warned that decisions made in anger could have long-term consequences and stand against the person who made the decision when another opportunity comes to contest or serve.

The lawmaker reflected on his political journey four years after losing a party primary, describing it as a lesson in patience, loyalty, and trust in divine timing.

Oladebo recalled that on Sunday, 22nd of May, 2022, he lost a primary election to the late Otunba Sola Arabambi of blessed memory, noting that the defeat was a moment that could have pushed him into discouragement and anger.

“At that moment, it could have been easy to become discouraged, angry, or take actions driven by emotions,” the lawmaker said.

The lawmaker said he resisted the urge to protest the outcome, believing that good conduct would eventually vindicate him.

“I chose not to protest or take any contrary action. I believed that time, patience, loyalty and good conduct would speak for me someday,” he explained.

According to him, Governor Ademola Adeleke, during that period, advised him to stay strong, remain positive and have trust in God’s processes.

“I remained grateful to Sen. Ademola Adeleke, whose words of encouragement gave me strength and hope.

“Today, to the glory of Almighty God, the Giver of all security and with the support of my people, I am proudly serving as a member of the House of Representatives and also returning for the second term,” Oladebo declared.

He described his experience as a message to others facing political setbacks, adding, “This is a lesson and an encouragement to everyone going through disappointment or political setbacks today: be careful of the actions you take in moments of pain”.
