Release Nnamdi Kanu or Arrest Sheikh Gumi Too, Primate Ayodele Tells FG
The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has urged the Federal Government to release the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Speaking during a church service in a video seen by OSUN DEFENDER, Ayodele questioned why Kanu remained in detention while Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi continued to move freely.
According to the cleric, the government should apply the same standard to both men if it wants Nigerians to believe it is being fair and serious in its handling of security and national issues.
“The Nigerian government should release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Since you keep Kanu in prison, why can’t you keep Sheikh Gumi in prison too?” he said.
“You keep Nnamdi Kanu but Gumi is free. Then, how do you want to now manage the government?
“If Nnamdi Kanu is there, then go and take Gumi. Then Nigerians will believe that the government is serious. Protest will seize this Tinubu government,” he added.
