The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arraigned a 65-year-old woman, Fatima Ilori, popularly known as Iya-Kerosine, before the Federal High Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, over the alleged possession and trafficking of 238.5 kilogrammes of cannabis sativa.
Ilori was brought before the court on Friday on a one-count charge bordering on unlawful dealing in narcotic substances.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to her.
Following her plea, Justice Agomoh ordered that she be remanded at the Agodi Correctional Centre pending the determination of her bail application.
The court subsequently adjourned the matter until June 26 for hearing on the bail request.
Earlier, the prosecuting counsel, A.A. Balogun, told the court that the offence was allegedly committed on December 11, 2025, at the Idioro-Elekuro area of Ibadan.
Balogun said NDLEA operatives acted on intelligence reports indicating that the defendant was involved in the illicit drug trade.
According to the prosecutor, the suspect was arrested in possession of cannabis sativa, described as a dried weed substance, weighing 238.5 kilogrammes.
She added that the alleged offence contravenes Section 11(c) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
