Patch Your AI-Generated Manifesto, Not Our Agenda’ — ADC Fires Oyebamiji Over Alleged Policy Theft

The Osun State Governorship Campaign Council of the African Democratic Congress (ADC-GCC) has accused the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, of attempting to appropriate its policy ideas to himself, particularly in the area of energy development.

In a statement issued on Monday by its spokesperson, Hon. Nurein Adebisi, the ADC-GCC alleged that Oyebamiji recently planned to unveil a “Strategic Energy Agenda” that was not contained in his original manifesto presented to the public on May 1, 2026.

According to the council, Oyebamiji’s manifesto, tagged “PROSPER,” did not include power generation or energy as a key policy focus. It claimed that the APC candidate only moved to introduce the initiative after observing the growing popularity and public acceptance of the ADC’s energy agenda.

The campaign council further alleged that following its public criticism of the planned unveiling, Oyebamiji subsequently shelved the proposal.

“While we recognize his decision to cancel his plan to hatch the eggs that he didn’t lay, we advise Mr. Oyebamiji to settle down, critically review and prepare a supplementary manifesto that reflects a distinct vision for the future of the state rather than labouring to patch his AI-generated manifesto,” the statement read.

The ADC-GCC maintained that elections should be won through originality, competence, and clearly defined policy directions rather than by adopting proposals already associated with political opponents.

It argued that a supplementary manifesto would provide the APC candidate with an opportunity to present fresh ideas and practical solutions to the state’s economic, educational, healthcare, and infrastructural challenges.

The council also contended that Osun voters deserve a contest of ideas driven by innovation and credibility, stressing that leadership should be measured by the ability to inspire confidence through well-articulated plans and visionary thinking.

According to the ADC-GCC, its governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Najeem Salaam, has consistently highlighted the party’s energy agenda at campaign engagements across the state, making it a distinctive aspect of the party’s campaign message.

The council urged the electorate to scrutinise the policy proposals of all candidates ahead of the election, insisting that authenticity, clarity of vision, and commitment to sustainable development would ultimately determine the choice of voters.
