Residents of most towns and villages in Osun State now live in fear and apprehension over the high spate of killings linked to political activities in the state.

Already, not less than two individuals have been victims of alleged political killings in Ilobu, headquarters of Irepodun Local Government Area of Osun State and Esa-Oke, a community in Obokun Local Government Area.

This is even as one individual lost his life in Ede during a political rally when a trailer reportedly rammed into the venue of the rally organized by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Accord Party had alleged that the killings in Ilobu and Esaoke had political undertones and were allegedly perpetrated by supporters of the APC in the two communities.

The development has, however, caused fear among the people of the state as many people are now apprehensive about the security situation of the state.

The situation has also affected the movement of many residents of the state as many avoid some areas identified as “hot spots” in the state

Osun Defender reliably gathered that most of the residents of Ikire, Ilobu, Okinni, Esaoke, Ede and Ila-Orangun live in fear of possible attack.

Recall that the chairman of the Accord Party in Olorunda Local Government Area of the state was recently attacked by political thugs.

The state police command has also warned miscreants to steer clear of the state, just as the state government called on security agencies in the state to intensify efforts to ensure the security of lives and property of the people of the state.
