The candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the forthcoming Osun State governorship election, Dr. Najeem Salaam, has reiterated his commitment to reintroduce the school feeding program if elected as governor of the state.

He gave the assurance at the palace of Olororuwo of Ororuwo, Oba Qamardeen Adeyemi Adeyanju, the Olona of Ada, Oba (Dr.) Oyetunde Olumuyiwa Ojo and the Alaagba of Aagba, Oba Rufus Olayinka Ogunwole on Thursday.

Salaam asserted that over three thousand women were engaged for the school feeding program during the administration of former governor Rauf Aregbesola, noting that its reintroduction would boost the economy of the state.

“I want to assure the people of Ororuwo that we will run an inclusive government if elected on August 15. There will be equal development across the state and this town won’t be left out.

“Also, we will reintroduce the school feeding program. This will create employment for our people and help students focus on learning. We have done this before and we will do it again. During the administration of former governor Rauf Aregbesola, three thousand women were engaged for the scheme.

“Under this programme, poultry owners and food sellers in the state will be patronized.”

Speaking further, the ADC governorship candidate said security of Osun will begin from various palaces in the state.

He also promised monthly stipends for People Living With Disabilities and employment of 20,000 youths for in the first 100 days of his administration.

Reminiscing on Salaam’s legacy as Speaker of Osun, Oba Adeyanju hailed him for his performance, describing him as Omoluabi.

The traditional ruler assured the ADC of Ororuwo’s support, urging him to fulfill all promise made to his people and Osun.

He tasked politicians in the state to remain law abiding and stop shedding bloods of innocent citizens.

In his own address, the Alaagba described Salaam as the most experienced and qualified for the governorship seat.
