A Rare, Precious Jewel – Aregbesola Salutes Najeem Salam @60
The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has saluted the former speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Najeem Salaam, on his 60th birthday.
Aregbesola, who is a former two-term governor of Osun, described Salaam, who was the speaker of the house during his administration, as a man of integrity and selfless service.
In a congratulatory message titled, ‘Najeem Salam at 60: A Diamond On His Diamond Anniversary’, Aregbesola said the former speaker was an integral player in the people-centered administration that shot Osun to unprecedented heights during his time in office.
The ADC National Secretary added that Najeem’s selfless service also shone through during his time as the Executive Director, Nigerian Communication Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) under the administration of late President Muhammadu Buhari.
The message reads, “I am most pleased to write this tribute to a friend, a dependable ally and a democrat, Right Honourable Najeem Folasayo Salaam, on the occasion of his 60th birthday. Sixty years is a remarkable milestone signposted with a diamond, a rare and very precious jewel signifying wisdom, beauty, strength, and enduring love. This is indeed what Honourable Salaam is to me and our political and ideological tendency.
“He was the Speaker of the Osun House of Assembly during our two-term progressive administration in Osun. He also served as Executive Director, Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) under the Muhammadu Buhari Administration.
“In both assignments, he distinguished himself for diligence, integrity, and selfless service. He was an integral part of our people-centred administration that shot Osun to unprecedented heights, giving legal teeth to our programmes and making good laws for the governance of the state.
“In all these years, he has stayed the course, firmly loyal and committed to progressivism, good governance, and service to God and mankind. He is ebullient, indefatigable, and solid like the Rock of Gibraltar. His soft and amiable visage masks a core of steel. He’s uncompromising on his convictions and incorruptible.
“As he marks this special occasion, on behalf of my family, I join the progressive family and well-wishers to wish him the best birthday ever, in good health, happiness, and joyful exertions.”
