Abuja Trader Arrested For Beating Colleague To Death

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a trader, Onu Simeon, for allegedly beating his colleague, Ifeanyi Chukwu, to death during a fight over a trading space at Utako Market, Abuja.
FCT Police Command spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident, saying:
“On February 5, 2025, at about 9:30 a.m., the Command received a distress call regarding a fight at Utako Market.
“Police operatives swiftly responded to the scene, where Ifeanyi Chukwu was found lying unconscious. He was immediately rushed to NNPC Hospital, Utako, where a medical doctor confirmed him dead.”
Preliminary investigations showed that Simeon, of Anguwan Biggy, Jabi Daki Biyu, and Chukwu, of Kuchigoro, Lugbe, had a dispute over a space to display their goods.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu, urged residents to avoid violence and settle disputes peacefully.
