Access Bank, FinTechs Collaborate To Improve Digital Payment

Access Bank Plc has collaborated with PayAttitude and Unified Payments to make available another payment solution called “PayAttitude Digital”.

PayAttitude Digital was described as a smart, trendy and easy mobile app that allows Access Bank accountholders to use just their phone number for transactions at the Automated Teller Machines, web and Point of Sale terminals.

It also allows Access Bank merchants/customers to receive payments using their mobile phone numbers across different e-payment channels, according to information.

The statement read in part, “Access bank customers will enjoy other benefits including request for a payment/transfer, ATM withdrawal, PoS payments and collection of membership dues, tithes and offerings.

“They can also send staff, friends and family members to withdraw cash at the ATM and buy items at physical and online shops, approve or decline transactions from anywhere they are.”

It added, “Customers would also have access to cost-effective and stress-free agency banking. In this regard, individuals and businesses can now register themselves as agents and begin to pay cash and receive deposits using their personal devices anywhere.”

The Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe, was quoted to have said, “This is a leading-edge payment solution that will ensure Access Bank customers enjoy unique and convenient banking services. Customers can send and receive cash, initiate third party payments, pay physical and online merchants and so much more. Individual users can simply download the app from the Appstore (Play store and Apple store) on their devices while merchants can be set up remotely.

He added, “At Access Bank, we are committed to simplifying the lives of our customers and this is evident through the number of innovative solutions that we make available to them. Our customers are our priority and their convenience remains our focus.”

The Managing Director, Unified Payments and founder of PayAttitude, Agada Apochi, speaking at the formal launch in Lagos, stated that “Unified Payments is happy to be the pioneer processor/switch and partner of PayAttitude and Access Bank to provide topnotch services as we have always done.”

The Country Manager, PayAttitude, Titilayo Olubiyi, remarked that with PayAttitude Digital, no visit to bank branch was required to be enabled.

She added, “It is all self-service from customer’s device. Likewise, it guarantees higher security level as PIN will no longer be entered on the POS, ATM or Web but now on the personal device of customers.”

She further stated that with PayAttitude Digital, customers would be able to take control of all their transactions.

Olubiyire iterated that Access Bank accountholders could now do transactions securely by themselves or through family, friends and staff by using their mobile phonesas payment remote control to authorise the transactions from wherever the accountholder may be anywhere in the world.

All these and more are made possible by the digital innovation of PayAttitude which has been granted the patent for the technology. It leverages the ubiquity of phone number and handheld devices.
