The Chris Imumolen-led faction of the Accord Party in Osun State has cautioned the state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Sunday Bisi, against making any reckless statement regarding the structure of the party in the state.

The leadership of the party under Prof Chris Imumolen described the recent statement credited to Bisi that the chairmen of PDP are automatic chairmen of the Accord Party at all levels as reckless and unguided.

Reacting to a viral video where Bisi said the Accord Party does not have a structure in many wards until Governor Ademola Adeleke joined the party alongside many of the PDP members, the Accord Party noted that the statement was that of a frustrated politician who has lost bearing and struggling for political relevance.

The party reiterated that the authentic leadership of the party in the state presented Hon Clement Kolawole Bamigbola as its gorvernorship candidate and the failure of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize him as the party’s flag bearer has led to a pending litigation.

Also, the party noted that the statement made by Bisi was subjudize as there is a pending suit in court to determine the authentic leadership of the party in the state and also the gorvernorship candidate of the party.

The state chairman of the party, Alhaji Muideen Abayomi Afolabi in a statement released on Monday said he remains the only chairman of the Accord Party in the state, stressing that the party is well grounded in the state contrary to the statement made by Bisi.

He warned Bisi to desist from actions and statements capable of heightening political tension in the state, just as he urged members of the public to discountenance the statement made by Bisi.

The party reiterated that the only recognized national chairman of the party is Prof Chris Imumolen, while the state chairman is Alhaji Muideen Abayomi Afolabi.
