The actress Muriel Robin, joined by 87 other personalities, sign on Sunday in the JDD a forum for the victims of domestic violence “no longer die in total indifference” and calls for a rally on October 6 in Paris.
Under the title “Save those who are still alive”, Muriel Robin recalls that “every three days, a woman dies under the blows of her spouse or former spouse” and that last year “123 have lost their lives “while” 225,000 others have been victims of domestic violence “.
Recalling that “the fight against violence against women has been proclaimed a great national cause for the year 2018”, she believes that “yet, a deafening silence persists”.
“It must stop, our cry of revolt must be as resounding as the denial that prevails today, Mr. President, let us act so that these women do not die in total indifference, so that we ‘Shall we be ashamed of these corpses,’ reads the text.
For its signatories, we must “give the means to act to those who take care of women victims and men perpetrators of such violence.” They also demand “a national O.BLI.GA.TOI.RE training of all legal professions (police, gendarmerie, judges, magistrates) and an emergency plan for the accommodation of women”.
The text also requires that the aggressor be “prohibited from approaching the home of the assaulted” and that “men + violent + are forced to heal”. He finally proposes to “rethink the law on self-defense”.
“If you want to show your commitment, I propose that we meet all of us on Saturday, October 6 at 14:00, in front of the Palais de Justice in Paris. All together, show these women that we reach out to them, and that will come a day when they will not be alone, “concludes Muriel Robin.
Among the signatories are Carole Bouquet, Mimie Mathy, Vanessa Paradis, Pierre Palmade, Alexandra Lamy, Julien Clerc, Stéphane Bern, Michel Drucker, Claude Chirac and Amelie Mauresmo.

On the airwaves of Europe 1, the Secretary of State for Equality between women and men, Marlene Schiappa, welcomed on Sunday the commitment of Muriel Robin while defending the government action.
“Prevention (…), we are already doing it with the interministerial mission of protection of women, but we can always go further,” she said, adding that she was going to talk with Muriel Robin .
In 2018, “there has been no reduction in the budget and all subsidies to all national associations hosting women victims of gender-based violence and sexual violence have been maintained, some have even been increased,” said the secretary of state. ‘State.
“For the coming year, the budget (…) increases since there is 4 million euros which are put in a great communication campaign” broadcast on the screens from September 30, added Ms. Schiappa , urging witnesses of violence against women to denounce them. “The state does everything in its power but can not do everything, all alone, there must be a citizen awakening”.
Muriel Robin will play Jacqueline Sauvage in a telefilm of Yves Rénier that will be broadcast on October 1 on TF1 and is inspired by the book of this woman sentenced for the murder in 2012 of her violent husband, after 47 years of conjugal hell.
In December 2016, at the age of 69, Mrs Sauvage was released from prison after a total pardon granted by François Hollande. For many, it became a symbol of the victims of domestic violence, and its history sparked a strong mobilization but also divided opinion.
