Actress Angela Okorie Apologises to Mercy Johnson Over Cyberbullying
Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has issued a public apology to her colleague, Mercy Johnson Okojie.
The apology follows Angela Okorie’s arrest by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Center, Abuja, at her Lagos residence on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, over allegations of cyberbullying Mercy Johnson.
She was remanded in Suleja Prison by an Abuja court on Wednesday, January 29, but was granted bail on Friday, January 30, by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
Justice Emeka Nwite set her bail at N5 million with one surety in the same amount, after her lawyer, Earnest Nwoye, filed the application.
In a heartfelt video shared online, Angela Okorie spoke directly to Mercy Johnson and her family.
She said, “This video is specifically for Mercy, her children, and her family. I am not perfect, and I want to sincerely apologise for anything I have said or written about you, especially online. I am deeply sorry.
“You are not a witch, and you are not what people have been saying about you. I want to make peace. Our children may meet and become friends, and as mothers, we cannot prevent that. I do not condone bullying, and I apologise for anything I might have done or said against you, knowingly or unknowingly. This is a new beginning. You are my friend, and I will never listen to gossip about you again. I love you and pray that God blesses and lifts you higher.”
