ADC Chieftain Blasts Kachikwu, Calls Him APC Mole with Empty Threats

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Abdullahi Umar, has dismissed Dumebi Kachikwu’s threat of legal action against the party’s new leadership, describing him as a political jobber and mole working for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Kachikwu, who was the ADC’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, recently threatened legal action over the takeover of the party by a coalition led by former Senate President David Mark and ex-Osun Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

However, Umar, a former House of Representatives aspirant from Kano, said Kachikwu’s claims were laughable and baseless.

“If I may ask, which stake is Kachikwu talking about? He neither belongs to the National Working Committee nor the National Executive Committee. His threat of legal action is a smirk of contempt for democratic norms,” he told journalists in Kano.

He added that Kachikwu did not campaign seriously during the 2023 election and had no significant engagement with party structures.

“He was just a pretender, doing the bidding of his paymasters, the APC. He was never a founding member of the ADC, so the talk of being a stakeholder is a ruse.”

Umar accused Kachikwu of allegedly working with the APC during the last election to sabotage ADC’s chances.

“It is clear that the APC is jittery. Nigerians have now found a platform to challenge and replace the APC. If Kachikwu thinks he can act as a mole to destabilise the ADC like was done in Labour Party and PDP, he should rethink. The ADC has come to stay.”

He urged Nigerians to be wary of political jobbers like Kachikwu and reiterated the ADC’s resolve to be a credible opposition party.
