ADC: Nafiu Bala Has Commercialised His Conscience — Dino Melaye

ADC: Nafiu Bala Has Commercialised His Conscience — Dino Melaye

Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has accused the aggrieved member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nafiu Bala, of “commercialising his conscience.”

Melaye made the allegation while discussing Bala’s presence at the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, where the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ratified the leadership of National Chairman David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola, and others.

Speaking in an interview with Arise Television on Wednesday night, Melaye said the NEC meeting, held on July 29, 2025, was attended by Bala and monitored by INEC.

He claimed Bala, who is now contesting the leadership, had participated in the meeting that endorsed the new leadership.

Melaye said, “On July 29, 2025, we had an NEC meeting that Nafiu attended. In that meeting, the leadership of Aregbesola, David Mark, and others was ratified. The one who has commercialised his conscience, who is now laying claims, was present at that meeting. INEC was also present and monitored the proceedings.

“In August, we wrote INEC to inform them that David Mark and Aregbesola were occupying their positions, and they certified receipt. From May 29, David Mark authentically became the National Chairman because the NEC is the highest decision-making body of the party. Nafiu went to court on September 2, 2025.

“Meanwhile, INEC’s ratification of David Mark was done before September. If you ask me about the situation before September 2, it was clear that David Mark was the Chairman of ADC, and Nafiu had resigned on May 17.”
