Adeleke Breaks Silence on Paternity Claim Against Son Davido

Billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke has denied claims that his son, award-winning singer Davido, fathered a teenage girl in Ibadan, saying multiple DNA tests conducted over several years confirmed there was no biological link.

Adeleke addressed the long-running paternity dispute on Wednesday, following renewed public attention after the teenager, Anu Adeleke, published an open letter on Instagram alleging severe bullying over the unresolved claim.

The teenager had called on Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, to submit to a DNA test to establish her identity.

Davido, in an earlier response, dismissed the allegation, insisting that five DNA tests had already been carried out.

However, the girl’s mother, Ayo Labinjoh, countered the claim, accusing the singer of lying and alleging that Davido’s father was involved in manipulating the DNA results.

Speaking at a press conference, Adedeji Adeleke said the matter dated back to 2014, when he received a letter from a lawyer in Ibadan alleging that Davido had impregnated a woman and abandoned both her and the child.

He said the letter was accompanied by photo collages, prompting him to personally arrange a DNA test.

Adeleke stated that a total of five DNA tests were conducted between 2015 and 2020.

He explained that the tests were carried out at medical facilities that collected samples in Nigeria but sent them to South Africa for analysis.

According to him, all the tests produced the same outcome, showing a 0.00 per cent probability of paternity.

“I received a letter in 2014 from a lawyer in Ibadan alleging that my son David, saw somebody pregnant and abandoned the person with the child,” he said.

“So when I went to the hospital, I went there myself. The hospital told me that they do not actually do the DNA test in-house, but there’s a clinic that they partner with.

“They will invite you to take samples of both the child and the father. But these samples will be sent to South Africa for analysis. A laboratory in South Africa, because it’s not done in Nigeria.

“So David, myself, and Lati met them at Vadik Hospital. We went upstairs, and the Indian doctor said, you allow only David, myself, the grandma, the mother of the baby, and the child.

“I was given one, and the grandma was given another one. And at the end of the whole story, they wrote here that the probability of paternity 0.00%.”

“And the mom asked the lab guy, what does this mean? He said, it means that David is not the father of this child.”

“And she was really disappointed. She broke down. She was crying, the grandmother.”

Adeleke insisted that the consistent DNA results conclusively showed that Davido is not the father of the teenager.
