Adeleke Charges OSHIA Board On Performance

  • As Board, Management Holds 4-Day Retreat

Governor Ademola Adeleke has tasked the board and management of the Osun Health Insurance Agency (OSHIA) to perform and deliver qualitative healthcare to the people of the state.

Adeleke said in line with his administration’s policy, the Osun Health Insurance Scheme should maintain its leading role, which he noted is only achievable if the leadership of the agency, is well-equipped and shows commitment to results.

The Governor said this while declaring open a comprehensive four-day induction and capacity-building retreat for newly inaugurated board members and management staff of the agency, at the Royal Park Hotel, Iloko-Ijesa.

Represented by the Commissioner of Health, Barr. Jola Akintola, Adeleke emphasised the importance of teamwork and collaboration to overcome challenges in the agency.

He stated, “After the training, we anticipate positive outcomes, equipping them to effectively fulfill their roles. Cooperation with management and administrative staff is essential for optimal efficiency and service delivery.”

Dr. Rasaq Akindele, the Executive Secretary of OSHIA, highlighted the significance of the workshop in building upon the agency’s achievements.

He underlined the strides made in health insurance awareness and enrollment, emphasising the need to reach and assist millions of uninsured individuals in Osun State.

Akindele disclosed, “Our digital transformation has streamlined operations, allowing enrollees to manage their health insurance seamlessly through a user-friendly mobile app.”

The Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Primary Healthcare, Dr. Micheal Oyerinde, applauded OSHIA’s progress and Osun State’s health system advancements, urging attendees to apply workshop insights in their daily duties.

“I encourage all participants to leverage this knowledge to elevate the impact and credibility of the agency,” Oyerinde remarked, emphasizing Osun’s potential to serve as a model for healthcare reform nationwide.
