Adeleke Inaugurates 15-Member Health Insurance Governing Board

OSUN State Governor, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, has promised to build on the achievements of the Osun Health Insurance Scheme, by further repositioning its agency for improved performance.

Adeleke reiterated the commitment of his administration to providing qualitative healthcare for the people, through an affordable insurance scheme, in line with his agenda to meaningfully develop the state.

The Governor stated this on Tuesday while inaugurating the board of the Osun Health Insurance Agency (OSHIA), at the Exco Lounge of the Governor’s Office.

Represented by his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, Adeleke admonished the new members of the agency’s board, drawn from all sectors of the state, to be upright and justify their appointment by building on the successes achieved so far with the OHIS.

Adeleke said, “We are expecting the best from you all. It is a very big task, but with the caliber of people sworn in now, I have no fear. The administration is positioned towards providing affordable healthcare to the people through health insurance, and with all of you on the team, I am certain you will do well.

“We wish you well ahead of your assignment, and we are looking forward to a better performance.”

The Executive Secretary of the Osun Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Rasaq Akindele, expressed gratitude to Adeleke for his efforts in ensuring that even the less privileged members of the society have access to quality healthcare.

Akindele noted that with the giant strides of the present administration, the scheme has garnered attention from seven other states, inspiring them to adopt similar strategies for enrolling pensioners into health insurance.

In his remark at the event, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health, Dr. Adekunle Akindele, assured members of the public that the board will do its best to make Osun health care stand out among its peers.

The newly inaugurated board members include: Dr. Muyiwa Oladimeji (Chairman), Dr. Rasaq Akindele (Secretary), Dr. Akeem Bello, Mr. Najeem Akintola, Dr. Abayomi Oni, Mrs. Yetunde Esan, Dr. Olufemi Ogundun, Dr. Olufemi Ala, Comrade Christopher Arapasopo, Mr. A.O. Oyawoye, Dr. Oluwole Fabiyi, Dr. Gbenga Adepoju, Mr. Stephen Aremu, and Mrs. Omolara Moshood.
