Adeleke Inspects Ife-Ede Road, Orders Closure For Repair

 

Governor Ademola Adeleke of the State of Osun on Tuesday, ordered the immediate closure of Ife-Ede Road for three weeks as construction activities, commenced on a section of the road in Ile-Ife.

In a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, a copy obtained in Osogbo, the directive followed the inspection of the area by the governor.

The statement said Adeleke who was taken round the road and the collapsing bridge, ordered the State Ministry of Works to mobilise to the road and fix it without delay.

Rasheed also said the Ministry had mobilised to the site for commencement of the construction work.

The statement read in part, “This is to inform the general public that there will be construction activities at Elewe Iran area along old Ife-Ede Road. All motorists and road users plying this route are therefore enjoined to make use of alternative routes or express road to link up Ile-Ife.

“Kindly bear with us for the period of three weeks of the construction work.

“The focus is to carry out repair work on the dangerous culvert along old Ife-Ede road near Obafemi Awolowo University campus.”
