Some elders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State met on Sunday to address issues causing crisis in the party.

The meeting held at the Government House, Osogbo, had in attendance Governor Ademola Adeleke, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Wale Egbedun, Chairman and Secretary of the party, Hon Sunday Bisi and Prince Bola Ajao respectively, former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former Secretary to the State Government, Alh Fatai Akinbade, Senator Olu Alabi, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye and Hon. Bamidele Salam.

Akinbade, according to sources at the meeting, reportedly declared that he was not joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) as being reported.

The PDP elders resolved at the meeting to end all the acrimonies in the party and reconcile aggrieved members of the party.

A communique exclusively made available to OSUN DEFENDER after the meeting reads below.

COMMUNIQUE OF THE RECONCILIATION/HARMONISATION MEETING HELD AT THE OSUN STATE GOVERNMENT HOUSE TODAY, SUNDAY 5TH MAY, 2024.

1. The meeting resolved that all the acrimonies of the past arising from the year 2022 Gubernatorial primary be put behind us and the Osun State PDP shall be ONE rock solid political family under the Leadership of His Excellency, Senator (Dr. ) Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State.

2. That a larger meeting of this nature be convoked in a short while with a longer time of notification and wider spectrum to be held at the Banquet Hall.

3. That the said next expanded meeting shall be strictly on invitation.

4. The meeting proclaimed the establishment of the Elders Forum.

5. The elders forum meeting shall be held quarterly.

6. The meeting also resolved on holding a Stakeholders meeting at the State party Secretariat immediately after the Asiwaju of Edeland installation to intimate the Stakeholders of the state of the party in Osun State and matters arising.

7. The meeting acknowledged that the welfare/well-being of the generality of the party members and all the good people of Osun State is the priority of His Excellency, Senator (Dr.) Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State.
