Adeleke Reaffirms Endorsement Of President Tinubu, Says Oyetola Accountable For LG Crisis

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has reaffirmed his endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 election.

Adeleke said the local government crisis rocking the state would not stop his support for the President, noting that his administration holds the minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, accountable for the issue.

The governor disclosed this in a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Tuesday, a copy obtained by OSUN DEFENDER.

The statement noted that the governor reaffirmed his earlier endorsement of the president during a meeting with cabinet members, special advisers and top government officials at the government house.

Adeleke added that the crisis rocking the local governments in the state has not affected the endorsement of President Tinubu, lauding Osun residents for embracing the Accord Party.

“We have no problem with President Tinubu. He is our leader. He represents the South West. I restate our endorsement of Mr President for re-election in the best interest of the South West.

“Our problem is with Minister Oyetola who has not gotten over his loss in 2022. We hold Mr. Oyetola accountable for the local government crisis rather than the President. Osun people also hold the same view.

“I appreciate Osun people for their mass embrace of Accord since I joined the party. Osun has become yellow and this is even spreading outside Osun’s borders. Our local chapters are running a weekly walk to live, which is attracting thousands of participants.

“I assure Osun people of more delivery of democratic dividends. Our excellent performance so far will be redoubled when we get re-elected. In our new upgraded agenda, we are refocusing attention on youth, women and workers,” the governor told the government and party officials at the meeting.
