Adeleke Inaugurates Osun Airport Committee, Ipade Imole And Other News In Osun Today

1: Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has set up an inter-ministerial committee that will look into the completion of the international airport in the state.

A statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Rasheed Olawale, a copy made available to OSUN DEFENDER said the Governor while inaugurating the committee in his office on Tuesday, noted that Osun is the only state in South-West Nigeria without an airport.

OSUN DEFENDER reports that a former governor of the state, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, started the Airport project situated at Ido Osun during his administration. It was continued by his successor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

However, Aregbesola’s successor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, now Minister of Marine and Blue Economy abandoned it instead, gifting the project which had cost the state at least N6bn to the Nigerian Air Force which also abandoned the project.

2: Maiden Ipade Imole Holds On Thursday

The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, will be holding the highly anticipated Ipade Imole event tomorrow, Thursday, October 5th, in Osogbo.

The Governor’s Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, who confirmed the development in a chat with newsmen, revealed that all is set for the first edition of the citizen engagement and feedback programme.

On the significance of Ipade Imole Rasheed said the platform will afford Adeleke the opportunity to showcase his achievements so far as well as intimate the public of his future plans for the state.

3:NBA Appeals To Adeleke To Raise Magistrates, Customary Court Presidents’ Salaries, Allowances

The Osogbo Branch of the Nigeria Bar Association, has appealed to Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State to review upwardly the salaries and allowances of Magistrates and District Customary Court Presidents in the state.

The association while noting that most of the buildings housing the High Courts and Magistrate’s Courts in the state were old and almost dilapidated, lamenting the infrastructural decay in courts across the state.

The appeal was made in a letter addressed to Adeleke on October 3 by the association and co-signed by the chairman and secretary of the association, Yemi Abiona and Ibrahim Hassan, respectively.

The NBA, in the letter further noted that some neighbouring states to Osun had taken a giant stride to guarantee enviable conditions of service for their Magistrates.
