More than 17 months after the cancellation of the Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme (O’YES), Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Tuesday revealed that the Imole Youth Corps will be unveiled soon.
OSUN DEFENDER recalls that Adeleke announced on February 16, 2023, the dissolution of the O’YES scheme, laying off its 20,000 cadets.
The government also announced that it will replace OYES with the Imole Youth Corps.
The development resulted in wide condemnation from some members of the public, but Adeleke’s spokesman, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, noted that the dissolution was to ensure the proper engagement of the youth in the state.
