Reports claim the victim suffered severe injuries and was denied care by nearby hospitals before passing away.

However, in an official statement seen by MandyNews, Professor Solomon Adebola, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University, described the incident as fake news, malicious and misleading.

The VC clarified that the report originated from an unrecognized social media platform known as AU TV, which is not affiliated with or approved by the institution.

According to him, “It has come to the notice of the administration of Adeleke University the circulation of false information and news purporting the r@pe of a 100 level male student by some 500 level male students which eventual led to the death of the former.

“Adeleke University administration vehemently frown at this malicious and misleading information which originated from one AU TV which is an unrecognized, unapproved and illegal social media platform operating within and outside the university.
