Reports claim the victim suffered severe injuries and was denied care by nearby hospitals before passing away.
However, in an official statement seen by MandyNews, Professor Solomon Adebola, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University, described the incident as fake news, malicious and misleading.
The VC clarified that the report originated from an unrecognized social media platform known as AU TV, which is not affiliated with or approved by the institution.
According to him, “It has come to the notice of the administration of Adeleke University the circulation of false information and news purporting the r@pe of a 100 level male student by some 500 level male students which eventual led to the death of the former.
“Adeleke University administration vehemently frown at this malicious and misleading information which originated from one AU TV which is an unrecognized, unapproved and illegal social media platform operating within and outside the university.

“While condemning in its strongest terms the thoughtlessness of the said false news, we as a faith-based institution of higher learning restate our commitment to the protection of our students both male and female against all forms of sexual harassment, exploitation and perversiom.
“Therefore, we want by this act to dismiss the general public utter disregard the purported news of r@pe of a male student in Adeleke University as it NEVER happened.
“This misleading information no doubt is an affront aimed at tarnishing the good image of Adeleke University.
“We want the general public to know that Adeleke University will as always continue to prioritize the well-being, safety and security of her students even as we appeal to the originators of this misguided and unfortunate news to desist.”
