Again, Bandits Abduct Two Zamfara Varsity Students
Bandits have again, abducted two students of the Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State.
The incident Osun Defender gathered happened on Saturday night around 9:00 p.m.
Osun Defender reports that bandits had last month abducted a significant number of students of the University.
According to an eyewitness account, the abducted students were male and female.
The eyewitness noted that they were abducted in their off-campus hostel in Sabon Garin Damba area of Gusau, a few kilometres away from the university’s permanent site.
The eyewitness claimed several gunshots were fired by the security personnel aimed at scaring away the bandits but they (bandits) succeeded in taking away the two students.
Residents of the area said the bandits attacked the community shortly after 8 p.m., firing their weapons indiscriminately to intimidate the residents.
They added that security personnel responded by firing numerous shots in an attempt to repel the attackers, but the bandits managed to abduct the two students.
