AGF Accuses Buhari Of Using Tinubu As Political Tool To His Own Advantage
A socio-political group, the Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation has expressed concern and dissatisfaction with the way President Muhammadu Buhari is treating its Principal; Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a political tool to his own advantage.
This is contained in a statement made available to OsunDefender by the Foundation’s National Publicity Secretary; Comrade Adeboye Adebayo in Osogbo.
According to him, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu should be treated in a better way especially going by his immense contributions in enthroning Buhari’s government.
“Honestly, we are very concerned and sincerely worried as young people and upcoming politicians about the way President Muhammadu Buhari is relating with our Principal; Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who contributed immensely to the enthronement of this government. Some weeks back after Baba Obasanjo wrote to President Buhari asking him not contest in 2019, our Principal and Baba Akande appeared suddenly for undisclosed discussions and today Asiwaju Tinubu has just been appointed to lead reconciliation efforts. This is a man that had been sidelined by the government he helped since 2015.”
He noted that Tinubu is more than a political tool in the hands of any President anywhere in the in the World as he himself is a Presidential material.
“It is very sad that after three years that the President has sidelined Tinubu and his ACN allies, after three years when Chief Oyegun has polarised the party like never before due to the actions or inactions of Mr. President, the president now deemed it fit to call him to lead the Reformation and reconciliatory efforts, is that a bait or an antics to use him and dump him again for the interest of Mr. President.”
Adebayo then urged President Buhari to genuinely change his deceitful attitude towards Asiwaju, saying that his style is not encouraging to upcoming politicians.
The AGF National Publiciry Secretary explained that “If Tinubu who sacrificed a lot to put this government in place can be treated like a commoner whom you can be using and dumping as political tools like this, what hope and encouragement signals are you sending to the youths.”
