Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, was thrown into mourning on Thursday, following the death of a final year student, Esu Rita Ema.
The deceased, a student of the department of French tragically lost her life in a fatal accident near the university’s main gate.
The incident occurred around 12 PM as Rita was on her way to submit her final-year project.
While attempting to cross the Ife-Ibadan road, just a short distance from the campus entrance, she was struck by a car.

An eye witness, Comrade Akinnibi Miftau, NAOSS National President, noted, “I was an eyewitness to the accident. Right in my presence, a complete human being was cut into pieces
” I think I’m correct if I assume that the driver was only sent to kill and dismembered her body part, coz as brutal as the accident was, nothing happened to the guy. He stepped out of the car like he was not the driver.”
Another eyewitnesses who do not want his name in print, noted that the impact of the collision was devastating.
He added that the Rita’s body was totally dismembered.
The tragic accident drew a large crowd of students, traders, commuters, and security personnel, all of whom were left in shock and grief by the sudden loss of a promising young life.
