THE Agunbe Descendants Union (ADU), a non-profit philanthropic Organisation will this year celebrate seventh anniversary of impactful existence of the group in Ikirun, the headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government, state of Osun.
According to the President of the ADU, Ismail Raheem, the objectives of the association is to contribute to the development of Ikirun community and it’s environ in Nigeria, and also assist the less privilege in their chosen careers.
Raheem said ADU’s mission included the enhancement, engagement and representation of their diverse neighbourhoods by coordinating the delivery of programmes for the citizen of Ikirun and facilitating community partnership to foster propinquity, development and harmony.
He stated that parts of the achievements of Agunbe Descendants Union over the years include the distribution of palliatives during the COVID-19 pandemic in conjunction with LIKE MINDS IKIRUN in the year 2020, orientation campaign across all primary and secondary schools in Ikirun, annual scholarship for students to tertiary institutions, youth empowerment programme and inter-school competition in 2022.
Raheem said the association is also looking towards acquiring two acre of land for ADU events centre, ICT resources centre, acquisition centre, while making effort to buy bus for the union.
He urged all Ikirun indigene to join the association for the better welfare and progress of Ikirunland.
