  • Says It’s An Insult For Oke To Announce His Political Movement

The lawmaker representing Obokun/ Oriade Federal Constituency, Wole Oke, has hinted that the Senator representing Osun Central, Olubiyi Fadeyi, may be set to dump the Peoples Democratic Party for the APC.

Oke, who recently defected to the APC in a post on his official Facebook page on Sunday, gave the hint with members of the APC celebrating the news under the post.

In the post, Oke, who posted a picture of himself and Senator Fadeyi wrote, “Ajagunla ti de ( Ajagunla is here) Am (sic) truly a Member of Liverpool FC Fan”

Meanwhile, members of the APC have taken to social media to celebrate the reported imminent defection of the Senator.

Reacting to the picture being circulated, Senator Fadeyi, in a statement on Sunday, said the picture was taken during an official legislative assignment.

The Senator, while dousing any tension of decamping, said if he ever chooses to consider a political move, he will never do that through Oke.

The statement read, “The above pictures were taken during official legislative assignments, including our collaborative work on the Committee on the State of Emergency in Rivers State, where we are both serving members in the Senate and House of Representatives, respectively.

“As lawmakers, we are duty-bound to interact across party lines in the national interest. Such engagements must not be misconstrued or twisted into a political narrative that does not exist.

“One of the pictures in question, also featuring His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, was taken after the revered monarch encouraged us to maintain mutual respect and cordiality regardless of party differences. It was a moment of national unity and royal counsel, not a political negotiation.

“If ever I choose to consider a political move as significant as defecting to another party, I know the right channels to follow and I can assure the public that such a declaration would not, and will never, be made through Hon. Wole Oke. The idea that my political destiny would be brokered or announced by him is both laughable and insulting to my person, my office, and my political structure.”
