Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has affirmed his administration’s zero-tolerance stance against injustice, declaring that no individual, regardless of status or connection, will be spared if found culpable in the recent killings at Akinlalu, Ife North Local Government Area.

‎The government’s declaration comes amidst the arrest of operatives of the Amotekun Corps by the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Nigeria Police Force over the recent killings.

‎In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Friday, the governor commended the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for the prompt response to the tragic incident.

‎The governor assured the police of his full cooperation and urged all security agencies involved to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation, guided strictly by the rule of law.

‎“There will be no sacred cow. No one or group, no matter how highly placed or connected, found to be culpable in one way or the other should be spared from facing the full brunt of the law,” Adeleke declared.

‎While commiserating with the victims and their families, Adeleke emphasized that justice must not only be done but must also be seen to be done.

‎He cautioned security operatives against any form of impunity or abuse during the investigation, stressing that the rights of innocent citizens must be protected within the bounds of the law.

‎“I will not condone violation of the law or any act of indiscipline. In this matter, the law must take its course,” the governor warned.

‎Adeleke further urged all stakeholders, particularly the police, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Amotekun Corps, and other security agencies, to maintain peace and order while the investigation progresses.
