THE Gboleru Ruling House of Ikirun, headquarters of Ifelodun local government of the State of Osun, has cleared the air on rumour going around that it has withdrew from contesting the Akinrun stool race.
The ruling house, in a statement signed by Prince Alimi Olaleye and Prince Lamidi Abefe on behalf of the family, noted that Gboleru family is not stepping down for anyone as being rumoured.
They said Akinrun stool is their birth right which they cannot sell, insisting that it is their turn to occupy the seat after the demise of Oba Rauf Olawale Adedeji.

The statement which was made available to OSUN DEFENDER yesterday reads in part: “Attention of Gboleru ruling house have been drawn to mischievous and false information being peddled around by some unscrupulous elements that Gboleru ruling house has withdrew from the race of Akirun throne.
“This is a blatant lie and members of the public should therefore disregard it. Akinrun throne is our birth rights and we cannot sell it. We are still very much in the race since it is our turn to present the next candidate to occupy the vacant stool.
“Our chance is very bright, because it is our turn to produce the next Akinrun.”
