Akpabio: Stop Natasha’s Unnecessary Dramatisation – Adamu Garba Tells Senate

A former presidential aspirant under the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adamu Garba, has urged the Senate leadership to stop what he called “unnecessary dramatisation” of the ongoing saga with suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

Garba said the Senate should have contained Natasha rather than allow her the “opportunity for populist activism.”

It would be recalled that the Kogi Senator was suspended from the Senate for six months.

But, there are conflicting reports regarding the ruling of Justice Binta Nyako of the Abuja Federal High Court ordering Natasha to resume plenary.

While the suspended lawmaker claimed that the ruling ordered her to resume, the Senate said the judgment was just an advisory one.

On Tuesday, Natasha was prevented from gaining entrance to the National Assembly when she came with her supporters to resume plenary.

Reacting to what transpired at the Assembly complex, Garba posted on X: “The Senate Leadership needs to stop the unnecessary dramatization of this Natasha saga.

“The hallowed chamber shouldn’t be allowed to give an opportunity for populist activism.

“Containing her within the Chamber would’ve been better than allowing her populist appeal on the street.”
