Residents and business owners at Alekuwodo Community, Osogbo have appealed to the Osun Governor-elect, Gboyega Oyetola to intervene on the bad state of roads that link all streets in the community when sworn-in.
The residents made the appeal while speaking with Osun Defender reporter recently, saying, the roads linking streets together are getting worst on a daily basis.
According to Miss Isiaq Iyabo, a resident of Akinlade Street, the roads have over the years not been able to receive attention of government at all levels, saying, government intervention is needed in the community.
She appealed to Oyetola to take Alekuwodo road as the first construction work to be embarked on in the state, considered the fact that the re-run election held at Adeoti Street, Alekuwodo favored him.
For Mrs. Adebisi Temilade, a business owner on Adewuyi Street, Alekuwodo, business activities in the area are no longer encouraging because of the bad state of roads in the community.
She lamented that, “Customers from another community are unable to come in to buy goods because of the bad state of the road”.
Another resident, Adewale Adebukola, a motorcyclist plying Alekuwodo community, exhibited his concern, that the condition of the road has made movement of vehicles, motorcycle and pedestrians in the community difficult.
He added that, the governor-elect should come to their aid and bring succor to the community, so that hardship caused by the condition of the road can stop.
Mr. Adebayo Temitope, a civil servant who resides in the community also appealed to the state government to intervene in order to address the situation and alleviate the suffering caused due to the condition of the road, especially now that the raining season is at its peak.
