All Phone Numbers In Nigeria Now Linked To NIN – NCC
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has officially announced the successful completion of the federal government’s policy mandating the linkage of all phone numbers in Nigeria to a National Identification Number (NIN).
Osun Defender reports that the initiative, launched in 2020, aims to enhance security and streamline identity management in the telecommunications sector.
Speaking during the 2024 Annual Corporate Governance Conference held in Lagos, Aminu Maida on Thursday, the Executive Vice-Chairman of the NCC, confirmed the completion of the NIN-SIM linkage process.
He acknowledged the challenges faced by Nigerians during the implementation but emphasized the importance of the initiative.
