Alleged Certificate Forgery: No Court Ordered My Arrest — Ex-Minister Nnaji
Former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, has denied reports claiming that a court ordered his arrest over alleged certificate forgery, describing the claims as false and misleading.
In a statement issued on Monday by his spokesperson, Robert Ngwu, Nnaji said he is neither under investigation nor in hiding, insisting that no law enforcement agency has invited or queried him over the allegations.
According to the statement, reports suggesting that a court had ordered his arrest were part of a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation.
“Our attention has been drawn to yet another publication alleging that a court has ordered the arrest of former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji.
“We wish to state unequivocally that Chief Nnaji is not in hiding and has never evaded any law enforcement agency,” the statement read.
The former minister stated that he has continued to reside openly at his homes in Asokoro, Abuja, and Independence Layout, Enugu, which he said are well known to relevant authorities.
The statement further noted that neither Nnaji nor his legal team, led by Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), has received any invitation, summons, warrant, or correspondence from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Nnaji also disclosed that he had already approached the Federal High Court in Abuja through Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1909/2025 to seek judicial clarification on issues relating to his academic records, including the release of his transcript.
According to the statement, the matter remains before the court and has yet to be determined.
