Alleged Incitement: Audu Maikori Arraigned, Granted N100,000 Bail

The co-founder of Chocolate City, Audu Maikori, has been arraigned before a Kaduna Chief Magistrate Court 1 Ibrahim Taiwo Road on a two count charge of attempt to incite the general public through false information contrary to Section 24 of Cyber Crime Act Law of the Federation of Nigeria 2015.

Audu Maikori who was arraigned alongside his driver Simon Joseph were later granted bail to the sums of N100,000 each on self-recognition. He was arrested after making a statement online about the Southern Kaduna killings, which were false. He later came up to say that he had gotten the information by his driver, which also lead to the arrest of the driver.

Several celebrities have comment over the arrest, saying Audu had apologized and that there are more people to be jailed than someone who got misinformed  by his driver.

The case was however adjourned to the 20th of April, 2017, for mentioning.
