Amotekun Arrests Ibadan Man While Stealing In Osun Mosque
The Osun State Southwest Security Network, codenamed Amotekun, said it arrested a 32-year-old man, Nurudeen Olawale, while attempting to steal money from a mosque.
According to a statement by the Osun Amotekun spokesperson, Yusuf Idowu, the suspect, a resident of Ibadan, was apprehended while attempting to steal money from the mosque located in the Ogo-Oluwa area of Osogbo.
The statement said worshippers during early morning prayers caught him in the act and alerted Amotekun operatives, who responded swiftly and arrested him on the spot.
The statement added that Olawale confessed to the crime and admitted it was not his first time targeting religious spaces.
The Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun, Adekunle Omoyele, praised the vigilance and dedication of the corps’ operatives.
He commended their swift response and successful arrest, noting that the suspect will be arraigned after investigations.
“We urge our people to continue to be security conscious and report any suspicious activities or security breaches in their environment. The Osun Amotekun Corps remains committed to protecting lives and property in our dear state,” the Commander stated.
