The Amanuke community in Anambra State has protested the disappearance of two generator sets donated by MTN.
The protesters fingered the President General and his supporters for the disappearance of the generating sets.
They noted that the situation has caused hardship to residents of the community, expressing sorrow over the impact on their economic livelihood.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the protest, held at the community village square, the leader of the protesters, Chief Okafor Ebubedike, said it was regrettable that all efforts made to recover the stolen generator sets had not yielded any positive results.
According to Ebubedike, the development has seriously affected the economic and social life of our community, and it has also brought total embarrassment and shame to our town.
“All the young men who rely on power to do their work have been sent back to the streets.

He also attributed the backwardness of the town to the rancour trailing the enthronement of a traditional ruler in the area, while carrying different placards at the community village Square.
He decried the level of decay in the community, which he blamed on the tussle over the traditional stool and the president general of the community.

He lamented that life had been miserable for them, adding that the tussle over their traditional stool was their major concern.
“The generator sets were donated to the community by the communication company, MTN, free of charge.
“So, we are appealing to His Excellency, the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo, to come to our rescue. All we need as it stands now is a peaceful reconciliation of the leadership crisis in the community, and this problem will be solved once and for all.
“Our people have always been supportive of his government and indeed the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) since 2002, and this is why we urge the state government not to abandon us to our fate,” Ebubedike pleaded.
