AGENTS of the All Progressives Congress (APC) used at various polling units in the July 16 governorship election in the State of Osun have expressed their dissatisfaction on the payment of N5,000 to them instead of N25,000.
According to the party agents, the party promised to pay them N25,000 on the eve of the election, wondering why they were paid N5000 four days after the election, July 19.
Speaking in a viral WhatsApp audio message, one of the agents, Sogo Agboola, said, “Pay the party agents their complete money. The N5,000 you sent to us is not our money. Governor Oyetola said our money is N25,000. All of you (APC leaders) are culpable in the electoral defeat of the governor.
“You will never know peace if you don’t pay our full allowance. You are set of useless people, paperweight politicians.”
A female party agent who did not mention her name in another audio message said, “It is ridiculous to be giving us a petty sum of N5000. I was standing from 7am to 8pm. I slept at the collation centre on the eve of the election and you are giving us N5000! God will judge you.”
However, OSUN DEFENDER gathered on Wednesday that Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has ordered payment of additional N5,000 to each of the party agents to make it N10,000.
The medium learnt that the fund to pay the additional N5,000 was released on Tuesday to each of the local government Collation Officer of the party, majority of whom are government officials.
It was gathered that some of the agents have been paid the additional N5,000 while many others were yet to be paid as of the time of filing this report.
