A former Commissioner for Political Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations under former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Hon. Taiwo Akeju, has resigned from the party.

In a letter dated June 4, 2026, and addressed to the APC Chairman of Ward 01, Iwara, Atakunmosa East Local Government Area, Akeju said his decision followed a careful review of his political journey.

The letter read, “I hereby resign my membership of the All Progressives Congress. Please note that this resignation takes immediate effect. This decision is personal and taken after a careful review of my political journey.”

Similarly, a former chairman of Obokun Local Government, Otunba Sunday Ojo-Williams, has announced his resignation from the APC.

Ojo-Williams, in a letter dated June 03, and addressed to the APC chairman in Ward six, Imesi Ile, said, “I write to formally tender my resignation as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). After a careful reflection and critical evaluation of the current realities within the Party.

“I have come to the conclusion that my continued membership can no longer be sustained in good conscience.

“Consequently, I, Otunba S.L. Ojo-Williams, hereby withdraw my membership and disassociate myself from all activities, responsibilities, and
affiliations connected with the All Progressives Congress (APC).”

Akeju and Ojo-Williams’ exit comes barely days after three former members of the Osun State House of Assembly and APC chieftains, Lekan Oyediran, Aleem Bakare and Folorunso Oladoyin dumped the party.
