Another Osun Federal Lawmaker, Ajilesoro Quits PDP
A member of the House of Representatives representing Ife Federal Constituency of Osun State, Hon. Taofeek Ajilesoro, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a letter dated Tuesday, July 22nd, and addressed to the Chairman of the party in Ilare Ward II, Ife Central Local Government, posted by his colleague, Hon. Oluwole Oke, on Facebook, Ajilesoro cited internal wrangling within the party as the reason for his exit.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that the defection of the federal lawmaker brings to five members of the National Assembly from Osun State who have, in the last few months, left the PDP in the state.
They are Senator Francis Fadahuhsi (Osun East), Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi (Osun Central), Hon. Oluwole Oke (Ijesa North Federal Constituency) and Hon. Sanya Omirin (Ijesa South Federal Constituency).
Feelers available to the medium revealed that, like his colleagues, Ajilesoro will, in the coming days, announce his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The letter sighted by OSUN DEFENDER online reads, “Please accept this letter as formal notification of my resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediately.
“This decision, though difficult, has become necessary due to the persistent internal conflicts, deep-seated divisions, and the pervasive culture of legal disputes that have unfortunately come to characterize the party.
“These factors have made it increasingly challenging for me to reconcile my continued membership with my personal convictions and aspirations for effective governance.
“I extend my gratitude for the opportunity to have served within the party. I trust you will accept my resignation in the spirit in which it is given,” Ajilesoro noted.
