AnytinCreative Hosts Free 5-Day Graphic and UI/UX Design Workshop
In a significant move to nurture digital talent in Osun State, AnytinCreative, a rapidly growing and innovative design agency, organised a free 5-day workshop focused on Graphic Design and UI/UX as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The workshop, held in September 2019, aimed to equip young, aspiring designers with essential skills to prepare them for opportunities in the fast-evolving tech and design industries.
The event attracted over 30 participants from diverse backgrounds, introducing them to the fundamentals of graphic design and the core principles of UI/UX design. The workshop offered a comprehensive curriculum that combined practical and theoretical learning with hands-on projects, allowing students to apply their newly acquired skills in real-time. Key topics covered included typography, colour theory, branding, user experience design, wireframing, and prototyping.
A highlight of the workshop was the involvement of seasoned industry experts, including Yusuf Sulaymon, Amuda Abdulahi, and Ayotomiwa Simon, who shared their experiences and provided mentorship. Their insights into how design can shape digital products and services inspired participants and highlighted the potential for growth in Osun State’s digital and tech sectors. Their presence motivated the students and demonstrated the vital role design plays in driving technological advancement in the state.
After the workshop, participants were awarded certificates to recognise their commitment and newly acquired skills. AnytinCreative hopes this initiative will serve as a catalyst for developing a solid digital design community within Osun State. By fostering local talent and equipping young designers with the necessary tools, the agency aims to enhance the state’s digital landscape, creating more opportunities for creative professionals and tech entrepreneurs.
Mr. Shamsideen Olakunle, Director of AnytinCreative, expressed his gratitude to the guest designers and sponsors, emphasizing that their support was instrumental in the workshop’s success. He highlighted the program’s impact on the students, noting how theoretical concepts were translated into practical learning, allowing young participants to acquire valuable creative skills. Mr Olakunle also expressed his vision to make the workshop an annual event, ensuring that young designers have ongoing opportunities to learn, innovate, and contribute to the digital growth of Osun State.
Guest designer Amuda Abdulahi shared his excitement about being part of the initiative, stating, “It was a privilege to contribute to this workshop and help inspire the next generation of designers. As a UI/UX designer, I believe in the power of design to transform user experiences, and I’m thrilled to share that knowledge with these talented students. Osun State’s digital tech sector has immense potential, and I’m happy to be part of its growth.”
Ayotomiwa Simon, lead graphic designer at the workshop, also expressed his enthusiasm: “It was an incredible experience to guide these aspiring designers and see their creativity come to life. Graphic design is a powerful tool for communication and storytelling, and I’m honoured to have had the opportunity to share my knowledge with such eager minds. I’m excited to see how these young designers will shape the future of the creative industry in Osun State.”
AnytinCreative’s CSR initiative represents a significant step in nurturing new talent and positioning Osun State as an emerging hub for digital and design innovation in Nigeria. The workshop has laid the foundation for the growth of a vibrant creative community that will continue to drive digital progress in the region.
