A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe has criticised the decision of the federal government to establish more universities.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Igbokwe, a former publicity secretary of the APC in Lagos State, described the decision as a misplacement of priorities.

The post was tagged with Premium Times photogrid pictures of Senate President Godswill Akapbio, his deputy, Senator Barau Jibrin and Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele.

The post reads, “Politics over Education? Why are politicians obsessed with creating new universities while ignoring the deplorable conditions of existing ones?

OSUN DEFENDER had on February 20 reported that President Bola Tinubu approved the establishment of new federal universities – Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin Ekiti, and the Federal University of Agriculture and Development Studies, Iragbiji, Osun State.

Iyin Ekiti is the hometown of incumbent Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele while Iragbiji is said to be President Tinubu’s ancestral hometown.
