APC Fixes Fresh Ekiti Primary For Friday As Fayose’s Deputy Clinches PDP Ticket Plus Other Newspaper Headlines Today

The coast seems to be clear for the two major political parties in the build-up to the July 14 Governorship Election in Ekiti State as the ruling party in the state, the PDP yesterday chose Prof Kolapo Olusola “Eleka”, the incumbent Deputy Governor as its flagbearer for the contest.

Meanwhile, in the other party, moves are on to pacify the 33 aspirants to allow for a free and fairer election on Friday to settle the inconclusive primaries of the opposition, All Progressives Congress.

After the first round of talks which lasted for more than two hours, Chief Bisi Akande stepped out of the hall of the meeting closely followed by Tinubu said the party leaders were mandated by the aspirants to meet and come back with a decision.
