APC NWC Disqualifies Kayode Ojo From Ekiti Governorship Primary
- As Aspirant Storms Party Secretariat With Massive Crowd
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified a leading governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Engr. Kayode Ojo, from participating in the party’s October 27 primary election.
The decision came shortly after Ojo stormed the APC State Secretariat in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday with a massive and enthusiastic crowd of supporters in what observers described as an unprecedented show of strength.
Although no party official was on ground to receive him, Ojo addressed his teeming supporters, reaffirming his loyalty to the APC and President Bola Tinubu.
He said his ambition was inspired by the people’s desire for change and renewed leadership within the state chapter of the party.
“Our people want change in our party, and they want it now,” he said. “They believe it’s time to reposition the APC to secure victory in 2026 and consolidate President Tinubu’s mandate in 2027.”
Ojo, visibly elated by the turnout, described the reception as a clear endorsement of his aspiration and the growing demand for reform within the party.
Meanwhile, the APC NWC’s announcement of his disqualification has sparked mixed reactions among party members and supporters across the state, with many expressing surprise at the timing of the decision.
