APC, PDP Constitute No Threat To Us – DPP Aspirant

By Solomon Odeniyi

The sole aspirant of the Democratic Peoples’ Party (DPP) for the Osun 2018 gubernatorial election, Prince Ayodeji Eniola-oni has said that individual candidates and their records should be considered during the September 22 election and not the political parties.

This is just as he said that he is better placed to emerge as the governor of the state of Osun during the election, saying none amongst the aspirants in PDP and APC is without a blemish.

He said: “It is obvious that people are tired of the APC and PDP. Since the inception of the PDP I have been involved. Even Olusegun Obasanjo has warned us to desist from the PDP, and also kicked against some policies of the APC.

“I make bold to say that none of the two parties constitute a threat to us, the people are aware they have milked them dry. They look forward to a new era which we intend to offer”.

Eniola-Oni who described his venturing into politics as a divine call said, if elected he would eradicate the hunger in the state, reform the civil service, improve the welfare package of workers, and empower the youth among others, adding that there is a mechanism already in place to achieve these.

The DPP aspirant said the call for zoning placed him in a better stead to be the governor of the state than anyone else, saying the west has always been the major decider of elections in the state.

He said: “Without mincing words, the west has been marginalized if you look at the zones the past governors had emerged. For instance in 1998-2003, Chief Bisi Akande is from Osun Central, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Osun Central, and the incumbent is from Osun East. It is the turn of Osun west to emerge..

The governorship hopeful who expressed his delight at the level of politicking in Osun said the state has gone past the era of subtle inducement which involves sharing rice and money to the electorates to have people voted them in office.

Eniola-Oni then advised the masses to be careful of any aspirant who seek to induce them to be elected, adding that such inducement should be taken and the people in turn should vote for their desired candidates.
