A Socio-political Group in the All Progressives Congress (APC), G-21 group has cautioned the aggrieved members of the party over the outcome of the governorship primary election to thread softly and support the candidate of the party towards success in the September 22 election.
In a statement signed by the Chairman, Ademola Ajibola, the group said those aggrieved should consider the issues arising from the primary as a family affair which should be handled internally, saying in any governorship contest, only one person will emerge.
According to him, what should be paramount in the mind of every member of the party and the people of the state is how to ensure the continuity of the developmental programmes and policies of the Governor Rauf Aregbesola administration.
The group chairman noted that though, all the aspirants are well qualified to lead the state considering their political and administrative experiences, but a contest would always be a contest, whereby only one must emerge winner.
Ajibola said, Osun has been placed on a high pedestal of development and the only way to be sustained is to have a governor returned from the party, APC that had laid the foundation for such development, more so that all the aspirants have averred to build on the existing development.
While congratulating the winner of the primary election, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola on his acceptability among party members which was demonstrated in the primary election, the G-21 chairman noted that his victory must be all-inclusive.
He charged the party candidate to extend hand of fellowship to the willing aspirants and the gesture must be real, saying, with their supports and that of other stakeholders, the election would be a free ride for the party on September 22.
The group chairman also charged party members to ensure effective mobilization of voters and sell the developmental agenda of the present government and the plan of the party in the coming administration across the nook and crannies of the state.
