The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has announced the removal of Victor Oye as the party’s National Chairman.
It was gathered that the party confirmed the appointment of Chief Jude Okeke, as acting National Chairman of the party.
It was learnt that appointment Chief Jude Okeke was part of the decisions taken on Tuesday by the National Executive Committee of APGA at its 114th meeting in Abuja.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ikechukwu Chinyere, made the announcement while briefing newsmen after the meeting.
He added that six other members of the party were also suspended indefinitely.
He listed the suspended chieftains as Chinedu Obidigwe, Hamman Ghide, Sylvester Ezeokenwa, Adamu Musa, Chief Okogbuo, and Ifeanyi Mbaeri.
Explaining why they were suspended by the party, Chinyere accused them of anti-party activities, gross misconduct, and conduct capable of bringing the party’s image to disrepute among others.
Furthermore, the party’s NEC also nullified the disqualification of five aspirants for the Anambra State Governorship Election who were previously disqualified by the Victor Oye-led leadership.
The disqualified aspirants include Sullivan Nwankpo, Okafor Smart, Chukwuma Umeoji, Ozoka Ifeanyi, and Nnamdi Dike.
Speaking after he was sworn in as the APGA acting National Chairman, Jude Okeke, announced the extension of the sale of the party’s Anambra State Governorship forms to the 25th of June, 2021.
He also said the primary election for the election had been slated for July 1, 2021, cancelling the June 23 and June 25 dates earlier fixed for the same activity.
